Popcorn and Blueberry Tea
Henry came to visit me at work yesterday. My husband had an early hockey game so he dropped him off for the last hour of my work day. I gave him some of our special popcorn. I guess he had been talking about coming to visit me and having popcorn all day at school. He was so cute playing with the calculator and label maker on my desk. I remember visiting my mom in here office when I was young. I remember that she had a rainbow of hi liters that she would let me color with. They seemed so magical because these bright fluorescent markers where never anywhere but in mom’s office. If Henry has any memories of visiting me at work, I’m sure he will remember the popcorn most of all. But I hope that somewhere deep in his mind, he also remembers that my cubicle was filled with pictures of him.
It’s been a while since I talked about the products that I’m wanting, loving and annoyed with, so here goes:
I want (my birthday is coming up. Hint, hint):
1) A subscription to Vanity Fair
2) A brown Coach bag with matching wallet
3) A set of gourmet pots and pans (Not the teflon kind. Non-stick pans suck!)
4) Dansko suede brown clogs
5) Emerald cut diamond stud earrings
I love:
1) My Dansko Mary Jane clogs
2) My big silver hoops and my pearl stud earrings. I wear these more than all my other earrings combined.
3) Celestial Seasonings True Blueberry herbal tea.
4) “Dirt” starring Courtney Cox.
5) That USA today just published an article that confirms that the US will profit from Iraq’s oil sales. http://www.truthdig.com/eartotheground/item/20070107_stealing_iraqs_oil/
I’m annoyed with:
1)Everlasting nail polish - Despite the promise on the package, the nail polish that is supposed to stay on until you take it off, does, in fact, chip. It also crackles in a matter of days. Considering it’s twice the price of regular nail polish, and that it takes forever to dry, always smudges, and you need to put on the color and then the clear finish, I’m giving it a “thumbs down” (no finger pun intended).
2)“The Memory Keepers Daughter” – I can’t figure out why everyone likes this book so much. I’m having a terrible time getting through it. It’s emotionally heavy handed and most of the characters are very one dimensional.
